Volunteer at IWI- International Women of Istanbul

On Christmas last year and this year, I did charity work collecting money for several organizations supported by the IWI. This is an event that has been taking place in Istanbul for the past twenty-five years. This event took approximately six hours (each time).

Sports

Last year I was involved in dancing but this year I occupied myself with another sport.
I worked out to develop my muscles. I have weak muscles and I need to be stronger. I had
an operation on my back six years ago, thus I have to keep my back muscles strong in order
to support my back and my body. I did and still continuing to develop my body muscles and
be healthy. I do this regularly each week for an hour, so I can see an improvement in my work outs.

Playing the Piano

I'm passionate about music. One of my favorite instrument is the piano.  I improved a lot during these two years (during my IB DP). I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every moment of it. I'm following a conservatory's curriculum. Actually, right now I'm working on Beethoven's piece called "Moonlight Sonata 1. Movement". This is one of my favorite piano piece. I take classes each week for two hours and this helps me relax and develop my skills.
I hope to play more classical music and when I've developed my skills I would like to play jazz music. I think this will be difficult because of the different chords but if I work hard enough I think I can manage it.

Yale Day Of Service

Last year in May almost all the IB students and I participated in an organized festival day, named "Yale Day of Service", for students from an orphanage.
We welcomed over forty students to my schools atlethics field.
We played group games with the children, held arts & crafts, and had dance sessions.
The whole day past with a blink of an eye, I will never forget the smile on their faces.

Drama Club

I've been in my schools Drama Club for two years. I've enjoyed the time I spent in my Drama Club. Last year, I believe was the best Drama Club, our club was approximately 20 students. We preformed two improv show in our school which were very successful and most importantly fun.
Throughout my Drama Club experience I learn how to overcome my stage fright and how to relax more while speaking in public. We had our Drama Club every week for two hours.

I found that doing improv is not easy as it seems... Coming up with sketches, scenes on the spot is extremely pressuring and very difficult. Besides the difficulties I encountered, I developed good friendships, improved my team work strategies and just enjoyed being in a creative environment. This experience will always be with me no matter where I go and will always help me in some situations.
Hopefully, in the following years I'll continue doing drama.
